Story
I have a special place in my heart for our Wylie ISD Education Foundation. I personally became involved with the Foundation after my husband, Rob, was killed while serving in the Army overseas in Afghanistan in 2011. I was blessed to have the community's help in setting up an Endowment in his honor through the Foundation to help bless a graduating senior at both Wylie High School and Wylie East High School. Each year an award is given out in Rob's name, it helps me feel like his legacy is continuing on in the lives of those who are receiving the gift. I remember even getting my own Birmingham Scholarship through this Foundation many years ago when I attended Wylie High School. I have seen the Wylie ISD Education Foundation do so much good in our area schools to help enrich the lives and school experience for all our students and teachers in so many ways.
Along with yearly student scholarships, the Foundation also strives to bless our local teachers through giving grants. Every year our teachers have an opportunity to request funding for an idea they think just might work. Grants For Teachers allows the Foundation to support the big ideas of motivated educators. We see students win and teachers feel supported. All funds for Grants For Teachers are donated by you, our community, so we're counting on you for success.
Please consider giving today to the Wylie ISD Education Foundation to help better the lives of all our local students and teachers! I know that they have personally positively affected my life as well as the lives of my boys and each of their teachers and fellow classmates.
