Being a wheelchair user, there are many sports that are inaccessible to me and there are many barriers to me taking part as an equal player.

However one sport that is totally accessible is Boccia - it's a paralympic sport and is a bit like bowls where you have to get your balls nearest to the white jack ball.

I have been taking part in weekly Boccia sessions with Perth & Kinross Disability Sport for the last year or so and have so much fun! I have also progressed to the stage where I am taking part in regional competitions, and thanks to the knowledge and skills of the coaches and referees, I am making good progress and improving my game constantly.

This would not have been possible if it were not for Perth & Kinross Disability Sport setting up many wheelchair-accessible sports events for disabled people in my area to participate in at no cost!

Perth & Kinross Disability Sport support both children and adults with disabilities to get active and find new passion for sport. Funds raised will go towards:

* continuing the no cost participation approach

* paying for venue hire across a range of sporting opportunities

* to purchase more adaptive sports equipment to enable even more people with disabilities to get active across various sports

* to create and develop new club sessions across Perth & Kinross to increase opportunities and participation.

* to purchase clubwear at the many disability sports clubs we support to make everyone feel part of the team
