Story

I only knew Becky for a couple of months and in those months she turned out to be an amazing friend and someone I'll miss more than words can ever describe. It's easy to say someone was fantastic and one of a kind when they pass away, however with Becky this is nothing but the truth. She was one of a kind. There is no-one I have ever met that can stand up to what she was like. The most out going friendliest person I ever met. Infact it always makes me smile as she introduced herself to me by making one of my friends bring her over to me and then get them to introduce her to me. From that moment on I could tell she always got what she wanted in life. It was a night where I was to meet someone I'll to this day consider good friend and someone I could always talk to. Becky always had time to talk to, sometime's I'd recieve a text at 4am and I'd think to myself shes lucky its me mr night owl would anyone else read and reply normally at this time of the morning?

Becky was also one of the few people I make friends with and manage to meet my best friend Latchford. No-one meets Latchford not because I'm embarassed by him, not because he's a social outcast and mustn't be introduced to socity but more because he never goes out anywhere with me. He has his hermit life and I see him once a month for our monthly alcohol and retro gaming/singstar/rock band day. However Becky broke the mould and actually managed to meet him which is an achivement in itself (if you are reading this and know Latchford you'll get what I mean if you don't know him please this isn't insulting him).

I don't have many memories of Becky in a social aspect as she was a busy girl and was living life to the max but she was always the other end of the phone and we chatted most days and was there when I needed a shoulder. There was stuff we planned to do and never got around to doing the most upsetting to me being the week she went to hospital we had planned a DVD night to catch up as it had been a while but life had other plans for her. In the famous words of Freddie Mercury "The show must go on my darlings" and with that we come to this.

After things had settled and the news had sunk in my friend Karl phoned me to see how I was feeling and said we need to do a fund raiser. Things were early at this point I had said to him lets wait till after the funeral and discuss it then. As I didn't want to think about it and get on with it however about a week after the funeral I called up Karl and said dude! (yes I did say dude, I use that word too much sometimes) we need to do something!! Karl wanted to do some some of sponsored event and being it was me and him alcohol immediately came into the equasion (yes I can use big words :P) we settled on the idea of the pub crawl. Thou at this point I said I don't wanna do anything without Jessika's permission as I didn't feel right otherwise. So I get on the old dog n bone to her and she is over the moon with the idea and told me Becky would be in laughing at the idea as its so her!

So here we are, raising money for leukamia research in aid of Becky. All I'm asking if you attend that you pay a donation of atleast £20 (and click gift aid if you're in the UK! :D).
