Every day in the UK, another 240 people wake up to the catastrophic impact of a stroke. The Stroke Association is the only charity in the UK providing lifelong support for all stroke survivors and their families.

Story

If you know me well, you'll know that I struggle to get out of bed in the morning, so running 5k will be rather an achievement and definately one worth sponsoring - even just for the amusement of watching me have to stick to a disciplined training programme when I'm tired, my mates are down the pub and it's soggy & cold outside.

If that's not convinced you then please consider the wonderful charity that I'm raising money for  - The Stroke Association. Yes, I know I'm biased because I work there but they truly are a fantastic charity who do some tremendous work.

Not many people know that stroke is the third biggest killer in the UK, behind cancer and heart disease, and it's the leading cause of longterm disability. What's more, it doesn't just happen to old people - stroke can happen to anyone at any age.

Donating through Justgiving is quick, easy and totally secure. It’s also the most efficient way to sponsor me: The Stroke Association gets your money faster and, if you’re a UK taxpayer, Justgiving makes sure 25% in Gift Aid, plus a 3% supplement, are added to your donation.

So, please, don't be a stingey git - sponsor me now!
