Some of you might know that I'm part of the Oxford Team for the RBS Indian Summer Challenge- I'm trying to raise as much money as possible for The Prince's Trust by the 6th May, when we'll be going to London to enact and present our ideas to the RBS Team- and if we reach the final, that will include the CEO of RBS GBM, and 2010 Apprentice star Laura Moore.
The Prince's Trust is an amazing charity- they work with young people to give them the skills and confidence they need to lift themselves out of poverty, moving into education or work. One in five young people in the UK are not in work, education or training according to their website- and they need our help.
So- if you all know me as being anything, it's extremely err talkative. My idea is that I will go for as long as I possibly can without speaking- a sponsored silence, starting on Friday 29th April. (excluding tutorials- I think my tutors might have something to say if I'm silent! But hopefully I will do this without interruption!) This would mean that if I manage over 24 hours- I could even have to stay silent for the ENTIRE BOP. I can't even sing along...
If you want to see me struggling to be silent (maybe you'd find it funny, or maybe I give you a headache :p) then please, please sponsor me!
(We do have several other fundraising initiatives- if you're around Oxford or London during 1st week and you want to give us a hand, please email me at rebecca.finley@new.ox.ac.uk)
Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving – they’ll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they’ll send your money directly to the charity and make sure Gift Aid is reclaimed on every eligible donation by a UK taxpayer.
