Story

On 29th August myself and a team of wonderful swimmers (Rhiannon, Roz and Will) will be taking part in the Wildwood Swim for Chestnut Tree House. Our team is called Winston’s Cheeky Engines, in memory of Rhiannon and Ric’s beautiful son Winston who died suddenly just before his fourth birthday. Chestnut Tree House helped them to cope with their sudden bereavement and supported them through the worst time of their lives. I can’t begin to understand what they went through but I can in a very small way make sure the support is there for any other families who need it. So I’m hoping you’ll all sponsor me please! 3km will be the furthest I have ever swum and I’m honestly a little bit scared about being in the water for that long! So please part with your cash and motivate me to just keep swimming…

Chestnut Tree House is a children’s charity providing hospice care and community support for children and young people with life-shortening conditions. There are hundreds of children and young people in your local community who are unlikely to reach adulthood. And even more parents and family members who need care, help and support on their journey, as they do not know how long they will have together.Your help enables families to spend time together. Precious moments that give a lifetime of memories.
