Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
I'm taking part in the cycle section of the Hever Castle Gauntlet triathlon on 23rd September to raise money for the Association of Air Ambulances. The cycle is 90kms with over 5000ft of climbing.
In January 2017 I was unfortunate enough to suffer a serious spinal injury, requiring three separate surgeries, a complete break from any form of exercise and a whole lot of pain. This event will be the first time I'm back in the saddle for anything other than a little cycle with friends, so it's a big step for me, and not something I'm anticipating to be easy in any way!!
The Air Ambulance association is a charity very close to my heart, being from the world of superbike racing, skydiving and equestrian sports i've seen a great deal of my friends and even family be transported away in one of these, and a few people who are lucky have their lives as a result. We would be considerably worse off without these fantastic people who really make a difference. If I had a fiver from everyone I know who's been in one of these i'd smash my target easily, and I include myself in this... i've already put my own fiver in.......!!
