Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
As some of you know, on the 16th January 2011 I am jetting off to East Africa on my tod for a month to firstly, spend 3 weeks in Kitale; Kenya, volunteering in orphanages in the surrounding area. This is something that I have wanted to do for AGES, so I am so excited that I have this opportunity to go.
I thought to myself, why not climb Kilimanjaro too, whilst I am there. So that is what I am doing. On the 7th Febuary, after 3 weeks in Kitale I will be flying to Tanzania to embark on a fantastic but scary adventure of climbing to the summit of Mount Kilimanjaro, Africa's heighest point. After watching Cheryl Cole, Chris Moyles and all the other people climb it a few years ago for comic relief, I watched it thinking "Yeh I would really love to do that", but kind of thought I would never actually do it. But with a little persuasion from James, alot of umming and arring and alot of saving I am actually going to do it, and I CANNOT wait :) With a few months to go I am now buckling down with my training in order to climb the 19,300 ft :S And I will not be coming home until I have succeeded.
With your generosity and support I really would like to reach my target of £1000. If I can raise more, then that would be amazing. I have decided to raise money to go to ACE Africa(Action in the Community Environment). ACE Africa is a non-profit organisation working in Kenya and Tanzania to reduce the impact of HIV/AIDS on the lives of the millions of Orphans and Vulnerable Children living in rural communities of East Africa, through health promotion, food security and nutritional assistance, education, community capacity building and support among the infected and affected.
I decided on ACE Africa as I really wanted to raise money to go towards a charity based on what I am going to Africa to do for the first 3 weeks of my trip. With your help and support it can really make a difference.
Any amount that you are able to donate to help me reach my target will be much appreciated, not only by me, but by the children and people of Kenya and Tanzania.
Thank you so much for your support and for checking out my page. I will make sure that I keep you updated on my little adventure :D
