My grandad was diagnosed with Alzheimer's a few years ago. At first he would forget where he put his keys and why he'd walked in a room but it didn't take long to forget people, names, memories.

Alzheimer's robs families of their loved ones long before they physically leave.

We lost my grandad last April; I'm doing this in my grandad's memory. He was one of the kindest men I've ever known.
