Story
In loving memory of our gorgeous baby boy Finnley Lambert.
Thank you so much for taking the time to visit our JustGiving page.
By raising money for the Tiny Toes charity we can help support the incredible work of the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) at William Harvey Hospital in Ashford, Kent who in turn help future babies and their families receive the care and attention they need during the hardest days, that no parent should ever have to go through.
Every little helps so please give whatever you can afford to help us help others who find themselves in similar situations to the one we find ourselves in.
Finnley was born prematurely on 15th October in Frimley Park Hospital at just 27 weeks, weighing in at just 1lb 14oz (875 grams). As you would expect being born so early Finnley was taken straight into the Frimley Park Neonatal Unit where he was brilliantly cared for as he started his brave battle for survival. Then on the afternoon of Sunday 16th October the doctors decided that he and I (Becky) should be transferred to the NICU at the William Harvey Hospital as the challenges the little man was facing were severe and he needed more specialist care.
The next couple of days were a roller coaster of emotion for Kieran, me and our families, from massive highs of hope to the depths of extreme despair, but the care and support that the team at William Harvey gave to Finnley and us was amazing. Every one of the dedicated, caring and supportive doctors and nurses were fantastic and helped us through the amazingly tough and devastatingly sad moments when it became clear that Finnley was losing his brave battle for survival.
Very, very sadly Finnley lost his battle and died peacefully in our arms on Tuesday 18th October.
Take care little man. Mummy and daddy love you more than we will ever be able to tell you.
