Story
As most of you are all aware our beautiful little girl was diagnosed with liver cancer just weeks after her second birthday. Emilie had to undergo months of gruelling, intensive chemotherapy before and after having a liver transplant in January 2013.
If it were not for her sheer strength, courage and determination, the skills and dedication of many, many medical staff and above all the kindness and bravery of her donors family, our little girl would not be with us today.
Each year children who have undergone a transplant are invited to attend and participate in 'The British Transplant Games'. This is a weekend for children and parents to be surrounded by other families who have had similar experiences, but also a time to remember the donors and their remarkable families.
The Leeds children's transplant team will be attending this years transplant games, in Newcastle. It costs an extortionate amount to take a team to the games so this is the reason for my fundraising.
The donor run is the highlight of the weekend and Emilie will be attempting to run the whole 3k without support which is a massive challenge for her.
We would be extremely grateful to anyone who feels they can sponsor Emilie and all money goes towards this wonderful cause.
Many Thanks
Becky, Dave, Emilie and Madeleine
