I have suffered with some form of headache from my late teens. It was only recently that I was diagnosed as being a Chronic migraine sufferer. And am going through different treatments, to find something that will help me.
I have many types of headaches/migraines on a daily basis. From a mild headache that last 30 mins to a few hours, to cluster headaches that last for days, weeks and the migraines that can last from a few hours to days. I have learnt some of the triggers and know when one is coming. But I live with a pain in my head daily.
This why I have chosen to run the London marathon 2021 for the migraine trust to help raise awareness about headaches/migraines and also raise much needed funds to help in the research and the support they offer to those that suffer with them.
Migraines are not classed as a disability, but the pain can be debilitating and affect day to day life, but Migraine is the most common and disabling neurological disorder in the UK, which affects 1 in 7 people.
The Migraine Trust is the only research and support charity for people affected by migraine in the UK. We fund and promote research, provide support and information, and campaign for change.
For more information about migraine and how we transform the lives of people affected by them please visit www.migrainetrust.org
Please support my london marathon. I am counting on your support to encourage me through my training and keep me going. I have done London before but my migraines get worse the older I seem to get.
Thank you for taking the time to read my story.
