Story
Sands, the stillbirth and neonatal death charity, is very close to my heart, a few years ago, I sadly lost my baby boy Reece at 43 weeks, and he was stillborn. I don’t go a day without thinking about him, but I was fortunate enough to come to terms and push through the challenging time.
I didn’t use Sands for support at the time, but I know a few people who have used them, and I have heard nothing but positive feedback and how they were a great comfort during an extremely sad and difficult time.
As this means so much to me, Elite GSS Ltd (the company I work for), and a few of my colleagues, we have teamed up to complete challenges throughout the year in the effort to raise money for this fantastic charity.
Many of our employees will also be making personal donations
to Sands UK. We’d be so grateful if you could support us with our challenges by donating. Your donations will help to thank the outstanding Sands UK and will allow for them to continue the outstanding work that helps parents through grief through bereavement care resources to ensure that every bereaved parent
and family receives the best possible care within the UK.
Already, our company organised a Euros 2020 sweepstake, and all the money that we raised from this will be donated to the charity! We will have our progress shown on our JustGiving page but also on our social media channels.
Also, as England made it to the Euros final, our Managing Director decided to make a further donation of £250!
My colleagues from Elite GSS and I started the challenges in May with a few members of the team to complete 143 squats per day, totalling 4433 squats for the month!
In June, two of us completed the 124 miles walking challenge, for July there was a 31 day body challenge which included squats, pressups, situps and planks which we’ve also completed.
For October, we've been challenging ourselves to complete the Couch to 5k challenge, which takes nine weeks to complete!
December is yet to be released… So watch this space
We plan to continue these challenges throughout the year 2021 to raise money for this fantastic charity so please get involved if you can!
