Story
In 2017 we sadly lost my sister's partner, Andy, to Bowel Cancer after a two year fight with the disease. Andy was a larger than life character so only a massive challenge would do him justice - Kilimanjaro has always been an idea in the back of my mind and now seems like a great opportunity to take it on, in Andy's memory, and to raise some vital funds for Bowel Cancer UK.
Starting in October, my sister & I will be taking part in 12 10km races, 1 per month, and at the end of that I will be jetting of to Tanzania to complete this ultimate challenge.
If you can, please spare a few pennies to sponsor me. Bowel cancer is the 4th most common type of cancer in the UK and the 2nd biggest killer. Over 42,000 people are diagnosed with this disease annually. Bowel Cancer UK fund life changing research and support to patients and their families (among much, much more) and I can't think of a more deserving charity to fund raise for.
About Bowel Cancer UK - We’re the UK’s leading bowel cancer charity. We fund targeted research, provide expert information and support to patients and their families, educate the public and professionals about the disease and campaign for early diagnosis and access to best treatment and care. We’re here to stop people dying of bowel cancer.
