Story
At the age of 26, I found out I had end stage kidney failure due to Alport Sydrome. With 6% kidney function (or glomerular filtration rate), I began peritoneal dialysis. After six months of outstanding care from my pre-transplant team at UW Medicine and my care team at the Northwest Kidney Centers, I received a life-saving transplant from my kidney donor, Diane Coleman. (She'll be partying with us on October 15th!) Thanks to Diane, I'm grateful not to wrangle my dialysis machine into submission each night. :)
Also thanks to Diane and her strong Irish kidney... I like the taste of whiskey now.
Will you join me in fundraising for the Northwest Kidney Centers on behalf of patient care and kidney research? Your funds will impact patients like me and the important work the Northwest Kidney Centers continues to do. And we'll be able to sip whiskey if I win, too! Whoever raises the most money (out of Dr. Ian DeBoer, Dr. Sanjit Reddy and I) gets their first pick of ingredients. Thank you, and looking forward to partying with you on October 15th at the 60th Anniversary Discovery Gala!
FYI -- Thanks to the Northwest Kidney Centers, we have a match pool so the first $4,500 raised will be matched (doubled) when you give.
