Story

"The greatest danger in life is not to take the adventure - George Mallory"

On March 24th 2010, I began a zero emissions circumnavigation of the globe, cycling over 40,000 miles (61,000km) across 5 continents, sailing approximately 10,000 miles across 2 oceans, the Atlantic and the Pacific Ocean with a little kayaking thrown in for good measure. Throughout the journey I’ll be passing through extreme sub zero temperatures, scorching heat and face thirst, hunger and physical and mental exhaustion. The expedition will allow me to experience a variety of different cultures from every corner of the globe.

So far i have pedalled my way across Europe to Istanbul. It hasn't all been plain sailing however. In the 9 months since i started this journey i've been hit by a car (causing me to rest for 4 months), attacked by wild dogs and even met the Mafia in Italy.

Next i plan to pedal across Iran and Central Asia to China in the depths of winter. This may prove to be a very difficult section of the expedition as temperatures may drop to as low as -35 (good job i bought my thermals!).

Through the expedition i aim to raise £1 Million for Combat Stress, the UK's leading military charity specialising in the care of Veterans' mental health.
