Maddison is 7 years old and on 5th November was taken to John Radcliffe Hospital unable to walk from pain in her spine, later that day we discovered that her spine was fractured in two vertebra and on the 21st November the cause of her spinal fracture was revealed and she was diagnosed with Leukaemia (acute lymphoblastic leukaemia (ALL) and AML amplification 1, she has just started a 2 year treatment of chemotherapy and as expected is experiencing hair loss.
Many people have asked how they can help or how they can donate to a cause supported by Maddison, after a little thought she has decided to nominate a few close friends to shave their head in support or pay a fine that will be donated to a great charity and organisation that have already helped at this dark and terrifying time. The great cause that she will donate the money to will be Clic Sargent (Young Lives Vs Cancer).
Maddison has a larger than life character and is treating her leukaemia in the same way she treats everything else, with a smile and a shrug of her shoulders. (a true inspiration)
We hope you will get behind this great challenge to raise money.
DONT STARE ITS ONLY HAIR
****** Update*****
To everyone that has supported Maddison we wanted to say; how truly grateful we are. She has been amazed by how many people are in support, and it has helped massively with her accepting her hair loss. With everyone’s generosity, we have together ranked in 'Just Givings' top 1% of fundraisers during December. With more and more people, and companies coming on board who knows how far this can go.
We had two great days, and were able to share Christmas and Boxing days with Maddison at home. Yesterday she started round two of her chemo. Thankfully this time round she isn’t on steroids so we have a chance to restock the shelves!
Thank you so much again for all your great support.
