Are we crazy? Slightly! Are we excited? Stupidly!! Because we (Rich & Zoe) are taking part in The Beaujolais Run® 2021!

We will spend five days, driving over 1,200 miles across Anglo / French soil, in a 50 year old (Ahem! 49 and a half – ACTUALLY!), British Leyland AEC fire engine 🚒 in a bid to be the first on The Run to repatriate France's first harvest 🍷…

Returning for its 50th year, The Run will see a select few vehicles (of which Champagne Fire Truck is confirmed to be one) taking part in this iconic voyage of tradition, culture and tomfoolery – all in the name of charity! The official charity of The Beaujolais Run® 2021 is the Royal Air Force Benevolent Fund, for which we have pledged to raise £1,250.00 and we'd really love your support.... Here's why 👇

Making our participation all the more challenging, with all her vintage charm, our beloved fire engine lacks ANY mod cons - not withstanding the very basics, such as sound insulation and... erm... heating... 😬🤦‍♀️Oh, and her top speed is roughy 55mph - making at least two things guaranteed about our voyage - it's going to be rather noisy and, being November, likely a little chilly. ❄️With this in mind, earplugs, thermals and hot water bottles take pride of place in our in-cab survival kit!
