Story

Hello, everyone.

Prior to the loss of one of our partners - and friend - Marty Stephens a year ago, our KPMG team decided to honour him in the best way possible - by climbing the Yorkshire 3 Peaks. And that is what we are going to do on 5 May 2023 and why I need your support!

Marty loved climbing and used to tell everyone at KPMG stories of his adventures. But not only that, Marty had a real 'can-do' attitude and whenever the team was facing a challenge, he would always say: "don't worry, we'll smash it!". Nothing more obvious than naming our team hike as the 'Smash It Challenge'. And we will smash it for Marty.

This challenge will be used to raise funds for the Scottish Mountaineering Trust (SMT). They provide grants to projects and organisations that promote public recreation, knowledge and safe enjoyment of the mountains.

Each one of us is helping with a target of £200. As a KPMG team, we have a wider goal to raise £20,000 - which I am sure we will do, but to get there every penny and pound will count to help us achieve our target and support this amazing organisation.

I count on each and every one of my friends to help with this one. Let's do Marty proud by smashing our fund-raising target!

RCN SC009117
The Scottish Mountaineering Trust is a charity (founded in 1962) which exists to promote the health, education and leisure of the public in all aspects of the Scottish hills and mountains. It gives grants and loans to a wide range of organisations, from bodies which aim to improve access to mountaineering for socially disadvantage groups to established, specialist climbing clubs. The common theme in all the activities which the Trust subsidises is that they must benefit the mountaineering public in one way or another.
