Help Bearsted raise money in the BCC 1749 challenge!
Bearsted Cricket Club was founded in 1749 and on Saturday 23rd May, members of our historic village club will be attempting to bike, trek or run a total of 1,749km raising money for Brain Tumour Research, a charity which is close to all of our hearts and in support of our longstanding member Richard Luxton.
From Richard:
"I just wanted to put on record my thanks to the Committee and all the members of Bearsted Cricket Club for organising this incredible event. For those of you who don’t know me, I’ve been a playing member at the club for about 25 years. I’ve also been involved in coaching Juniors at various age groups over the last 5 years or so.
"I was diagnosed with Brain Cancer in the summer of 2018, and to see the Club pulling together for this cause which is basically about me, is very humbling and shows the quality of people within the Club.
"Brain Tumours kill more children and adults under the age of 40 than any other cancer, yet only receive 1% of the national cancer spend."
Help us to change this by donating on this page.
Please do share this message far and wide as well as following our Facebook, Twitter and Instagram (@BearstedCricket), which will all have lots of fun updates using #BCC1749 as well as a live tracker of our attempt to cover the target of a combined 1,749km on the day!
Thank you for your support!
