Story

Today I am reaching out to all of you to ask for your support and generosity in raising money to support TMA's local conservation heroes in Ecuador. As a way to reach my fundraising goal ($1,000) while also celebrating my 39th birthday on May 21st, I am aiming to get at least 39 of my friends and family to donate $25+ to my fundraising campaign. With your contributions, TMA and their team of local conservation heroes will be able to continue their important conservation work in the coastal rainforests of Ecuador.

About the Campaign:

The rainforest conservation organization TMA works hand-in-hand with local residents from the small community of Camarones to protect and restore the forests of the Jama-Coaque Reserve in coastal Ecuador. These local residents are the most important conservationists and advocates the Reserve has, and they truly represent the front lines of the global conservation movement.

Unfortunately, these same individuals, their families, and communities are also the most vulnerable during times of crisis, such as the current Covid-19 pandemic. Access to education, quality and nutritious food, medical care, and secure job opportunities are all restricted in Camarones, and this worrying trend will likely worsen over the coming months and years as the pandemic spreads.

So today we are asking for your participation and support in raising enough money to ensure TMA and their team of local conservation heroes in Ecuador are supported throughout the global crisis resulting from Covid-19. The pandemic affects all of us, but it also presents an opportunity to come together as a global community support things we believe in.

UPDATE:

May 6th: Thank you all so much for your incredible support over the first few days of my campaign! I never expected that I would reach my fundraising goal so quickly! You're all amazing!

Given the fact that the overall campaign is still missing funding to reach it's fundraising target, I have decided to up my own personal fundraising target. I am now aiming to reach $2,000 in support for TMA's campaign to support local conservation heroes in Ecuador. I hope you will all join me in supporting this very important cause that's close to my heart!
