Thanks to my friends, family and patients I raised over #4000 for Bowel cancer UK last year.  I'm taking part once again in Decembeard 2019 to support Bowel Cancer UK. All the money raised will help stop people dying of bowel cancer by funding vital services and lifesaving research.

Bowel cancer is the 2nd most common cause of cancer deathin the UK, accounting for 10% of all cancer deaths (2017). Early presentation and diagnosis will make a difference. 

Bowel Cancer Screening is an important tool and can detect the disease at an early stage in people when it is easier to treat and there is a greater chance of survival. Don't IGNORE it.

My Story 

I am a Bowel Cancer Surgeon in England and also a Cancer (Lymphoma) survivor myself. On a daily basis, I can relate to my patients when breaking bad news. Unfortunately, Bowel cancer can affect people of all ages. My youngest patient was less than 25 years old. 

I will be colouring my beard to raise awareness for Bowel cancer symptoms and for cancer research!  Being a hospital professional, it is going to be difficult to dye my beard whilst at work, but nevertheless I would like to do my bit for Cancer research and a cause close to my heart.

My aim is to Improve Bowel cancer awareness and also to motivate cancer sufferers to 'fight it out', just like I was able to do with the help of my family and friends.
