Story
Hi! My name is Bridget Corcoran, and I'm so excited to be serving with JVC next year after graduating from Boston College this May!
Coming out of college, I knew that I wanted to do a year of service, both to give back, and to discern what I want to do as a career. JVC came forward as a natural choice for me, since its four values of spirituality, simple living, community, and social justice felt like they were a great balance of prioritizing what I already value and pushing myself towards who I want to be.
I'm looking forward to serving as a Program Assistant at West Side Catholic Center in Cleveland, Ohio. In this position, I will spend the first half of my day helping clients enter or re-enter the workforce, and the afternoons working with the Expressive Arts program. I'm particularly excited to bring together my interest in social services with my love of the arts I've cultivated throughout my life. While I work there, I'll be living in intentional community with other volunteers working at sites throughout the city.
While JVC receives fees from our partner agencies, they aren't able to cover the cost of the volunteering experience for all participants. Your donation helps defray the cost of housing, food, retreats, and faith formation for volunteers across the country so we can make a difference in our communities.
Thank you for your support! I can't wait to share my journey with you!
