Story
Hi all,
As you all know, it's now been slightly longer than 5.5 years since I had a very serious traffic accident, and I am forever grateful to survive it.
I experienced this when I cycled back home after a drinks with colleagues. Contrary to understanding how and what happened it continues to be quite difficult for me to understand and accept why this happened. I struggle with the absurdness of someone who stole a car two weeks earlier at the same evening Baiqu and I were celebrating her birthday and almost killed me accelerating on the wrong side of the road when chased by the police.
This 5k parkrun is important to me as I’m quite active and running continues to be one of my favourite sports as it has always been. In addition, it’s fantastic to run this parkrun for the first time instead of volunteering as it otherwise would have been.
Information both for patients and public is very important to understand neurological diseases, including for brain injury. Brainbook is a charitable organisation devoted to the neurosurgical community. Brainbook aims to improve understanding of neurological and neurosurgical diseases and improves research into brain injuries and other diseases of the nervous system. A shared very good understanding supported by research is essential for everyone to understand the neurological diseases which I really appreciate and would like to support as Brainbook’s key purpose. I’ve selected Brainbook as the charity I aim to receive donations for.
Your understanding and cooperation would be very much appreciated. Enjoy this run which is worth much more than (just) a great (en gezellig) fun active start of the weekend!
