Story
I am taking part in the worlds largest sailing event, Bart's Bash 2018 on the 15th and 16th September for the Andrew Simpson Foundation. I am fundraising for the Andrew Simpson Foundation who with these funds, work to increase participation and improve the lives of disadvantaged young people through sailing.
This year's event is also an attempt to break our current Guinness World Record of the largest sailing event in the world. Participation in this is optional but we want to encourage as many people as possible to take part to spread the awareness of sailing and it's benefits across the world!
By donating to the Andrew Simpson Foundation, you are supporting their 5 key activities. These are:
- Delivering the annual Bart's Bash - the world's largest, mass participation sailing event
- Researching the benefits of regular sailing participation
- Delivering 7 Community Sailing Programmes
- Volunteer Training
- Providing practical assistance and small grants to other, likeminded, not-for-profit sailing organisations
To date, the Foundation has supported 66 different, worthwhile sailing projects across 19 countries, with tens of thousands of disadvantaged young people being provided the opportunity to experience the benefits of sailing.
