Middlesbrough and Stockton Mind support over 8,000 local people every year who are struggling with their mental health. In 2020 this number has significantly increased to well over 10,000 due to the effects of the pandemic.
The North East of England has the highest rates of suicide than any other part of the country. One in five local children are suffering from poor mental and emotional health, which is higher than the national average. So now more than ever, people in our local communities need access to mental health support and services.
I want to raise money to support Middlesbrough and Stockton Mind to reach the people who need their help the most.
