Story
Baz swore the last time he ran the London marathon in 2019 that was definitely the last time....well here we go again, this time running the Soul marathon in and around Norwich. Not one to miss out Wends has decided she will sign up for the half marathon at the same time (those that know Wends know that whilst she loves a gym class she is most definitely not a runner :))
We are looking to do our part to help raise funds for the Soul "Miracles in May" efforts. Many people will know about the work Wends has done with the Soul foundation with the social supermarket (and Baz uses his geek expertise to help out behind the scenes with some of the data) which has helped over 1000 families in and around Norwich. The social supermarket came about after Soul linked up with the national initiative of Love Thy Neighbour during lockdown, delivering food parcels to those in need.
As well as this the foundation do so much to help the homeless, going out into the community and providing a hot meal once a week (and haircuts and introduction to groups and support around a multitude of areas) and loads more initiatives and groups to help the most vulnerable and in need.
But Soul Church and the foundation don't just do so much to help those in the local community but further afield as well - in the past year alone they have sent 1000 "backpacks of hope" to children in the Ukraine and offered continued support in that region as well as providing support to those affected by the Turkey earthquakes.
The new building that the "Miracles in May" is raising funds for is on the site of the former church that burnt down many years ago and is intended to be a huge community centre for those in and around Norwich to be able to use and access (as well as the social supermarket and loads of support groups there will also be a nursery on-site).
They do so much for so many and we are looking to raise £1000 (or hopefully more!!!) - you can be sure that the money you give really will go to helping someone in need.
