Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
I have decided to run the marathon this year with just over 3 months left to train! It will be hard going but worth the effort to raise money for the Wisdom Hospice. It is unbelievable that the hospice has to raise £800,000 a year through charity to provide pallative care to patients. My father in law was cared for by the Wisdom and I can honestly say the doctors, nurses & McMillan pallative nurses are caring, hard working and totally committed to providing care to patients. I cannot praise them enough for all they did for Archie over the 10 months whilst he stayed at home and then spent the final weeks of his life receiving the care & dignity he deserved free of pain. My Mum also sadly passed away almost 19 years ago and also received care from the McMillan nurses whilst being cared for at home. They really are angels sent to help the people in need and without them, I do not know how carers and love ones would cope.
My marathon run is dedicated and in memory of Mum Margaret Sweeting, Father in Law Archie Dunlop, Barbara Kingsland, Kay Blakesley & Mayble Hamilton.
I know that times are hard, but please give up your take away this week or just empty your penny jar and give to this worthwhile, needy cause.
Thank you for taking the time to read my message and maybe I'll see you at the finish line of the 17th April!!!!
