Woking & Sam Beare Hospice is a charity that delivers specialist palliative care to adult patients of all ages who have life-limiting and terminal illnesses in the North West Surrey region, providing free of charge holistic care and support services both in our hospice and in homes.

Story

Hey, I'm Barney, I’m 16, and I go to the Winston Churchill school in Woking. I have lost both grandparents at the Woking Hospice, and I was very close to them. Now, I want to do my bit for them for all the support they gave me.

On the 16th of July, me and 11 other children between the ages of 11 and 18 are embarking on a 140 kilometer expedition across the sinai dessert in Egypt, including a week long environmental project. The temperature will be somewhere in the high 40's, maybe even 50's. The children are in charge, and we have to organize our own kit, supplies, etc. we hav to raise our own funds, and we also hav to raise £100,000 as a group, by pitching to big companies.

The aim of the trek is to raise £100,000 for children’s bereavement services at the Woking and Sam Beare hospices.

Donating through this site is simple, fast and totally secure. It is also the most efficient way to sponsor me: Woking Hospice will receive your money faster and, if you are a UK taxpayer, an extra 28% in tax will be added to your gift at no cost to you.

Anyway, I'm guessing that you've probably had enough of me now. Thanks!!

~Barney~
