Story
Hi everyone,
I have decided to join Team EDF to hike the Pyrenees Freedom Trail over 5 days. A mountainous route used by many to escape the occupation of France during World War 2. This hike is considered to be a challenge even now, as I will be reaching a peak altitude of 2500 metres and travelling on remote trails over mountains and through valleys.
Having only completed my Duke of Edinburgh award to the bronze level I am very much a long distance hike newbie, so any tips & tricks for my training are welcome.
The challenge is all in aid of Prostate Cancer UK, who help research treatments and cures for this horrendous disease.
My aim is to raise at least £2,100 by the 27th of July to allow me to undertake the hike in early September.
Thanks,
Barney "Edmund Hillary" White
