Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
My name is Barney, and I'm a keen cyclist. I was diagnosed with depression nearly one year ago, and cycling has been my way of helping to regulate my mental health. With the right medication and support from my friends, family and university Well-Being centre, I am now well on my way to beating depression, and feeling much, much stronger within myself as a result.
This summer I want to take my cycling a little further and begin raising money to help others who are in the same spot I was just 10 months ago. To this end, I'm cycling the Circuit of Kent cyclosportive for the charity PAPYRUS UK, which provides a helpline and support for those in risk of taking their own lives, as well as those who are supporting their loved ones through difficult times.
I love a challenge, and 130km is not a distance to be taken lightly. At 81.25 miles, it is the biggest challenge I have faced yet in the cycling world and ends on a leg-breaker of a hill in Sevenoaks. So please don't let my suffering be in vain - help me achieve this personal goal of mine, and help PAPYRUS continue their fantastic work. If you're a UK taxpayer, please don't forget to Gift Aid your donation, as it costs you nothing but allows the charity to claim that little bit extra in funding.
