St. Thomas’ Handshake to Kware exists to provide medical and educational services for the population of the Kware slums in Southern Nairobi, Kenya. There are some 500,000 people living in the slums, many of whom lack access to clean running water, education, health care and a regular source of food.

Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit our JustGiving page.

The aim of this page is to raise £36 per month to support a child in the Kware slum community in Nairobi which will provide education and at least one meal per day. The children the charity supports are the poorest of the poor and would not be able to be schooled without the kind support of many people who donate to Kware.

Perpetua is the second born in a family of two. She is an orphan having lost her mother at birth. She lives with her maternal aunt who has four children of her own and is a single parent. Her aunt is a teacher at Jesheb school and is struggling to provide for such a big family. Perpetua also has special needs.
