Story
This will be my 5th visit to Uganda. It's an incredible place - and I've been challenged and blessed hugely on every trip. This year, 11 volunteers are travelling to Soroti in rural North Uganda to help run a camp for some of the most vulnerable children on earth. We're expecting about 200 children. The camp is residential as many children have some distance to travel and they won't all have access to transport. We'd like to send them all home with a mattress (many will sleep on the floor of a hut) and a set of eating utensils. The cost of a mattress is about £15. We're also including children from The Ark, the day centre caring for up to 15 children with disabilities. These children will need collecting and taking home each day.
The team members have already carried out many fundraising activities to fund the cost of running the camp. We're now making this direct appeal to our friends and families to raise money needed to provide the children with a mattress and eating utensils.
