Biomedical research into M.E.is seriously underfunded. We need to do more if we are to learn how and why this cruel illness starts - how to test for it or treat it, or better still, how to cure it.

Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.  Below is some of my story.  I hope you will enjoy reading it and decide to help me in any way possible to achieve my goal.  Thank you so much.

Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving – they’ll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they’ll send your money directly to the charity. So it’s the most efficient way to donate – saving time and cutting costs for the charity.

I have had ME for 28 years.  It is a devastating illness.  My hair is my crowning glory but it is a renewable resource.  I cannot walk or run very far but I can give up my hair and hope to raise £10,000 in the process with the help of other interested friends, family, neighbours and people interested in finding a cure for this dreadfully debilitating illness.

I hope my escapade will increase awareness within the community of the work of the ME organizations that strive to help sufferers, their families and carers.

Despite being quite ill at times I still stretch myself to achieve more and this is a challenge I want to face and achieve, to help others who are in a far worse situation than I am.

I shall continue knitting clothes and cribs for 5" dolls - £25 each and making 18" knitted dolls with their outfits - £65.  I have already raised £355 in this way.

I am prepared to ask anyone who will listen if they will help me but I am also prepared to do what I can as well.  I cannot imagine how I shall feel when my hair is shaved off but that is my voyage of discovery and I am excited about it.

28.8.14.  I am now knitting school mittens either in bright colours or school colours.  For the little children I can also make a chord to go through the coat sleeves and attach to each mitten.  They are worth £12.50.  They have topless fingers inside a mitt cover.

Friends and family are saving over the next 9 months- my midwife connection - the length of my fund raising challenge, their small change in collecting boxes that I can and have supplied.
