Bupa Great Manchester Run 2014 · 18 May 2014 ·
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page. I am running the Bupa Great Manchester run s part of a group of people, namely Sarah Carter my sister in law, in aid of Jason Sheard, here is Sarah's story -
As you all know my brother passed away on Monday 23rd September 2013 after an 8 year battle with brain cancer. Every year for the past 8 years i have raised money for charities that are close to my families heart, this year i am running for the last time in memory of my dear brother.
He was my world, i loved him so dearly, and when we found out on the 11th January 2013 that he only had 3-6months left with us my heart broke, especially as 3 days before his soul mate, Dawn suddenly passed away. My parents moved in with him and looked after him 24/7 as his body slowly deteriorated each day. To see a person you love slowly loose the abilty to walk and talk was devastating but he fought hard for 9months and 12 days.
St Ann's helped my parents care for him at home, they showed so much dignity and respect to J and they simply couldn't have done it without them. St Ann's relies on 16K of donations every single day to keep its doors open, so raising money for this amazing charity is our way of saying thankyou for the amazing job they do.
The run is on the 18th May which is the day before mine and Jasons birthday, so there would be no greater present for me and to celebrate Js life than to donate, one last time to this amazing charity, so please dig deep and donate what you can.
