Fundraising for Project Harar Complex Mission 2020, 24 November 2019
Welcome to our Medical Volunteer fundraising page! We are volunteering as part of the medical team for Project Harar because they bring smiles to the faces of rural Ethiopians.

Story

In February 2020 I will be returning to Ethiopia for the Project Harar Complex Mission.

Over an eight week period a group of volunteer Doctors, nurses and Dieticians work side by side with their Ethiopian counterparts and provide surgery for children and adults with facial disfigurements.

Without this surgery these people are stigmatised and outcast from their schools, communities, and often even their own families.

I will be spending 4 weeks on the mission, 2 weeks pre-op and 2 surgical weeks. Working along side the nursing team, having recently completed my Healthcare Assistant training here in the UK. It is always a real honour to be able to support this amazing team of medics who not only give up their annual leave to travel to Ethiopia but also tirelessly fundraise to cover the costs of their time there. Therefore I would be extremely grateful if you could help me achieve my £3000 target by donating.

None of this would be possible without your generosity

Project Harar provides access to treatment, rehabilitation, and reintegration services in Ethiopia for children and young people with clefts and more complex facial disfigurements. We do this because these children and young people are at risk of stunting, malnutrition, and social exclusion.
