Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
I initially started running for fitness but have grown to love it for the clarity it brings to my mind. I am a researcher and spend a lot of time thinking about challenging problems. It takes a combination of persistence, consistency, training and grit to stay with problems long enough to start seeing the light. I found running to be a physical metaphor for life -- in research, and at large. To take just one more step when you feel like you don't have a single drop of energy left in you -- and in doing so continue to push the envelope one step at a time, forever.
I started training for this half marathon in Summer, 2017 -- with me, my phone, the road, and stamina that hardly lasted for a minute. Thanks to regular training, I am now (in November 2017) comfortably running 10 km. I am confident that given my regular training and determination, I will successfully complete (and who knows, even win ;)) the Big Half 2018. I am using this opportunity to raise money for The British Red Cross Society because they support a cause I believe in: "help people in crisis, whoever and wherever they are". Please donate and make this happen! Below I include information about donations as stated by JustGiving.
