We raise funds for bladder cancer to improve research, support and outcomes

Story

Ballyclare Male Choir is proud to be raising funds for Action Bladder Cancer (ABC UK), which is this year's nominated 'Chairman's Charity'.

Bladder cancer is not a rare cancer - it is the tenth most common cancer in the UK - that's 3% of all new cases.  Over 10,300 people are diagnosed each year, around half of those will die. Despite this, there is very limited public awareness of the disease and it is a low priority on the public health agenda. Treatments have changed very little over the past 30 years and research is seriously underfunded. Bladder cancer has been called a 'Cinderella' cancer. ABC UK is dedicated to changing this and to giving bladder cancer patients a voice.

Ballyclare Male Choir have put together a special Virtual Concert for 2021! Things may have been a little different for us all in the last 12 months, but music has if anything become even more important in our lives during the pandemic. The choir started its 2020-21 season on Zoom, and when help was made available by the Arts Council of Northern Ireland, it seemed obvious we should make a concert for our followers, whether new or long-established. The concert is FREE, so if you've enjoyed watching, we simply invite you to make a donation to this fantastic charity.  Watch here: https://youtu.be/AneKXoUUmDs

Have you enjoyed singing along with the choir? We always welcome strong new voices to our number. You can learn more about the choir and how to get in touch via our website:
