Story
In March it will be 10 years since my mum died (bit of a grim opener I know, but stick with me guys – it gets cheerier!). Like a lot of people, I lost a loved one to cancer and, like a lot of people, I’ve got that urge to do something to remember them while also raising some money for a good cause. I thought about doing a sponsored run, sure, but then I remembered – I hate running! And you know what else – me running is super boring for you guys! So I scrapped that idea. Then it came to me – baking! I like to bake; people like to eat baked goods. It’s a win-win.
So here’s the idea: from the beginning of March, over several months, I’m going to start delivering home-made baked goods into the hands of friends, one person at a time, in no particular order. Random acts of cake, if you will. Share it with your housemates, take it into work, or simply keep the whole lot for yourself – it’s up to you. And if, when you’ve received your cake (or cookies, or muffins – I’m an equal opportunities baker), you feel you’d like to make a donation to this page, well, that would be just swell.
All money raised will be donated to Nottinghamshire Hospice, a charity which provides free palliative care for adults with life limiting illnesses and support to their carers.
Big love, Jess x
p.s. I think I have a good idea of people’s dietary requirements and flavour preferences, but if you have a severe butter allergy or something I don’t know about, send a text my way.
p.p.s. That picture is my mum and paternal auntie having a whale of a time back in the day. My mum is the redhead. Yes, I have secret ginger heritage(!!).
