Giving away my hair! · 30 October 2013

The Little Princess Trust provides real hair wigs, free of charge, to children and young people who have lost their own hair through cancer treatment or to other conditions. The charity is also one of the largest funders of childhood cancer research in the UK.

Story

Thanks for visiting my JustGiving page.

My 12 year old daughter read the story of a young girl in one of the Nannans magazines who had lost all of her hair through chemotherapy treatment. It upset her to think that she was so sad because she had no hair when hers was all the way down her back. A few days later she found out a girl at her school had cancer, it wasn't anyone she knew but it made her think. Her Nannan had survived breast cancer and I (her mum) have had a few scares. She decided she didn't need hair all the way down her back, so the whhels were set in motion and Bailey cut of almost 14 inch of her hair! This is what she wrote;

"I am doing this because children with cancer have to deal with being ill so having no hair is a lot on top of that, especially if you are a girl my age. My hair can help make wigs for girls who have lost their hair because they are ill, my hair will grow back and when it does I might just donate it again! "
