Story
What are you doing between the 21st and 25th September 2023?
Well, the Backhouse Jones’ team (James Backhouse, Jonathon
Backhouse & Andrew Woolfall) will be joining Transaid’s London to Paris ride.
They will leave from Greenwich Observatory and head to Newhaven
where we will catch the ferry across to Dieppe, before spending two days edging our way ever closer to the iconic Eiffel tower and a victory dance! They will be cycling 187 miles (climbing 8,200ft) across three days, from London to Paris, experiencing magnificent English countryside and picturesque French rural landscapes, all from their saddles!
This challenge provides the opportunity for Backhouse Jones to raise essential funds for Transaid…and we are asking you to help!
Transaid is a unique, passionate organisation that works
with partners and governments and focuses
on professional driver training, transport management systems, and rural access to transport to solve two of the biggest challenges in economically developing countries.
Every driver should be able to leave for a day's work without the fear that they may not come home because of a lack of training, or dangerous vehicles and roads. Every family should be able to access vital healthcare; nobody should be left behind. Every person should have the opportunity to build the skills they need to transform their future.
Transaid transforms driver training, driving standards and transport management systems making drivers more competent, vehicles safer and reducing death and injury on the road.
