1 in 29 children in Scotland are bereaved of a parent or sibling - that's an average of 1 child in every school class. By sharing how you cope with big feelings you'll make a real difference and help a bereaved child live well with their grief.

Story

Richmond's Hope supports children and young people from Edinburgh, Midlothian, Glasgow and surrounding areas who have been bereaved. We provide children with a safe place to work out their grief through play and specialised grief activities and provide tailored programmes of care for each child. One of our teams mother was involved in setting up the charity twenty years ago after losing a son in a road accident, leaving behind a young child.  During this difficult time she found there was little support in helping youngsters through this period of grief - and with support from the minister from Richmond Craigmillar Church the idea for Richmond's Hope was formed.
