Story
The Big Babble Walk for Samaritans will take Kai & Hayden on a 120 mile, 6 day trek across the country from Blackpool Tower to The Angel of the North from Monday 27th June to Saturday 2nd July.
Hayden & Kai are mates and co-presenters of The Bedtime Babble On, a late night phone-in radio show that they created in 2020 in response to the pandemic, as a way of supporting those who needed a friend during the early hours of lockdown.
At the end of each programme, the guys share the details for the Samaritans and encourage listeners to talk about their mental wellbeing, if they feel low.
Kai took time off from the show in August 2021 to focus on his own mental health. In this time, he contacted the Samaritans himself to find support for his grief. In a time where he really needed it, there was someone at the other end of the phone. Because of this, Hayden & Kai want to use this trek to fundraise for Samaritans and promote the amazing work they do along the way.
The boys are excited to get this journey underway, and have began training for what will be an intense 6 days, that they will be documenting throughout on social media.
This is the 3rd charity walk that Kai has undertaken since 2019. The first being Lincoln Castle to Castle Hill, Huddersfield (Sept 2019 in Memory of his Dad, Action for Pulmonary Fibrosis) & the second being Castle Hill, Huddersfield to Blackpool Tower (August 2020 in aid of Bodyslams to Cancer). This latest walk will be the longest & most difficult challenge yet, ending in their home of the North East, and the Babble team can't wait to get started.
