Story
I am (exercise bi)cycling and walking 100 K to stop MS. As we all know I am supremely exercise-averse, to the extent that I cannot actually ride a bike. So this must be serious right?
It is. More than 130,000 people have multiple sclerosis in the UK alone. It's a neurological condition that causes problems with how people think, move and see. Anyone can get MS and once you have it, you have it for life.
Secondary progressive forms of MS can lead to permanent impairment. And right now there are no treatments to stop it happening. But we can change that.
Pls give £££ to help our researchers stop and slow disability in MS, for good.
£50 - is enough to operate a high powered microscope for an hour to study cells and tissue affected by MS.
£100 - could process 4 blood samples and extract information about genes and the immune system to help test new treatments.
£250 - is enough to run an MRI scanner for an hour and look at brains - crucial for understanding MS progression and also super cool.
