Story
My story
On April 24th 2017, I was admitted to hospital, suffering with severe headaches which left me bed bound on multiple occasions, the doctor sent me for a CT scan where they found a lesion. On the 26th of April 2017, I was then sent to have a MRI where I was diagnosed with two brain tumours, one of them was a grade one 3cm Astrocytoma and the other around 1cm.
On the 4th of May I had the larger of the two tumours removed and they are regularly monitoring the smaller one as its too dangerous to remove it. This was one of the most scariest times in mine, and my families lives.
My partner has told me, when I woke up, I looked at him and he asked if I was ok. In his words he said, “I have never heard such a high pitch scream with pain in my life. I will never forget that noise. It will always be in my ears every time I think about it.”
The day after my 8 hour operation my brain began to flood itself with liquid. With this, they had to do a second emergency operation and insert a drain into my head.
A year on I have finished my second year at university passing all my exams, and I am half way through finishing my final year at university.
After my surgery I couldn’t walk, talk, and I was severely fatigued and I was completely depended on my family.
Now a year later there is very little I struggle with I still get tired and sometimes struggle to write but other then that, I feel better then I ever have!
So in August, while helping at soul survivor as part as my churches youth team, I will be shaving my hair off, for those who know me they will know my hair is really important.
