Story
Those of you that know Owen (age 8) will know how thoughtful and compassionate he is. He hates to think that others are suffering. Well, the other night he got out of bed and came downstairs to me and said, “Mammy, I was thinking, I want to give some money to charity. I don’t want any children to be without toys at Christmas.” Talk about a proud parent moment!
I work for Women’s Aid ABCLN so I know that it is very much the reality that there are children in our country, in our towns and neighbourhoods that will have no Christmas tree, no big dinner and perhaps even no toys. Owen wants to do his bit to change that.
On the morning of the 21st December we will wrap up warm, set off for a wonderful winter walk and finish up watching the sun rise over the River Bann.
Winter Solstice is the darkest day of the year, but brings with it the promise of more daylight ahead.
Each day after this date will be a little brighter and that’s what we hope to do for children in our community living with domestic abuse.
Owen would be so grateful if you would consider donating just a little. Thank you
