Story
I have recently been in Uganda as part of my ambassadorship for Send a Cow, where I witnessed, first hand, the incredible work the charity is doing with local communities, to transform their futures!
Here is a short video about my time there: https://www.sendacow.org/blog/beninuganda
Send a Cow is a brilliant charity doing vital work in 7 African countries; Uganda, Burundi, Ethiopia, Kenya, Lesotho, Rwanda, and Zambia. Their work is incredible; lifting rural communities out of poverty in a sustainable, self sufficient way, whilst focusing on social development, gender equality and enterprise. 80% of their work is carried out by locals for locals, they don't throw aid at a crisis but instead work with communities enabling and empowering them to raise themselves out of poverty in a self sustaining way, and it lasts.
Send a Cow has been working with some of Africa’s poorest families for 30 years this year, helping over 2 million people work their way out of extreme poverty. They provide livestock, tools, seeds and training as part of a programme giving people the hope and means to establish a future for themselves and their families.
