Story
When was the last time you consciously thought about the water you were drinking, showering or washing with...…?
Yemen is one of the world's most water scarce countries.
Being able to access clean water is something that we all take for granted...
In Yemen, 18 million people are in urgent need of clean water.
Access to clean water for drinking and sanitation is a basic human right for all. A lack of access to safe, sufficient and affordable water has a devastating effect on the health, dignity and prosperity of billions of people, and has significant consequences for the realisation of other human rights (UN).
On the 25th of September 2021 I will be aiming to climb the highest mountain in Southern Britain - Pen y Fan. Please support me in raising funds for this vital appeal which will provide clean drinking water to orphanages and villages in Yemen at risk of water-related diseases.
£10 - Provides water to an orphanage for 1 day
£70 - Provides water to an orphanage for 1 week
£140 - Provides water to an orphanage for 2 weeks
£300 - Provides water to an orphanage for 1 month
According to the UN, only one third of Yemen's population is connected to a piped water network. This has led to major outbreaks of cholera and Acute Watery Diarrhoea (AWD). In the 2017 outbreak, more than 1.3 million people were infected and over 2,800 people died.
The people of Yemen have already experienced so much suffering.
Please donate anything you can for this URGENT cause.
With best wishes and many thanks for your support,
Azmina
