3 Peaks Challenge · 24 May 2019

We provide expert care and support for people across Ayrshire living with life-shortening illness, and those closest to them. Our aim is to help people live well, with comfort, dignity and choice. Every person and moment matters - and with our community’s support, we’re here when it matters most.

Story

Spirit AeroSystems and Wellington School have both selected Ayrshire Hospice as their nominated charity partner for 2019. We have connected as a local employer and local school to raise money for this very worthwhile cause. A joint team of 4 Spirit employees and 4 Wellington School pupils will attempt to complete the National Three Peaks challenge in less than 24 hours on the 25th/26th May 2019.

The National Three Peaks Challenge involves climbing the three highest peaks of Scotland, England and Wales, we will be starting at Snowden in Wales, working up to Scafell Pike in the lake district and finishing on Ben Nevis in Scotland.

The total walking distance is 23 miles (37km) and the total ascent is 3064 meters (10,052ft) - twice the ascent of the Yorkshire Three Peaks, over a similar total walking distance.
