We help stroke survivors to find strength through support.

Story

After some unforeseen inspiration, this summer I decided to do something different, something worthwhile. I set about researching what opportunities were available and soon came across the adidas Women's 5k Challenge. As running is something I greatly enjoy, I looked no further and signed up immediately.

By paying an entry free to participate in the run, I can choose to raise money for a charity of my choice: The Stroke Association. This charity is the only one in the UK which “solely is concerned with preventing stroke and ensuring that everyone touched by stroke across the UK gets the help they need.” For more information on this organization please follow the link: http://www.stroke.org.uk/

The reason for my choice of charity is due to a personal experience: This December will mark 8 years since my grandfather had a stroke and became bedridden ever since. He is the cement which holds my very large yet close-knit family that I have come to cherish every day. I am sure his success, wisdom, and warm heart is an inspiration to everyone who he has touched and marks the reason why his children and grandchildren are who they are today.

Please take the time to donate however small or large a donation you see fit to help me sponsor my run and hence aid those who have suffered from a stroke. (Once you donate, JustGiving will immediately send your money directly to The Stroke Association.)

Thanks for taking the time to visit my page.
